Meet Nancy Cline

As most people are, I have always been interested in the education of my children. As I have learned more about the issues facing our families and schools, I felt called to work for the education of our children.

I have volunteered in our school’s PTA for the last twelve years. I have been the Vice-President for Programs for two years, and the Vice-President for Ways and Means for two years. I was also President of the Parent Organization of Gifted and Talented students at our school for two years.

In addition, I served as Chairman of the Elementary Education committee for the Citizens Committee for the 2003 Bond Election. I am a member and serve on the Board of Trustees for Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Carrollton. I was recently selected to serve on the Texas A&M University Civil Engineering Advisory Council.

My experience has given me valuable perspective on the issues facing the District. I am a parent with three children in our schools. I am a taxpayer and an active community member, and I feel that my background and experience will contribute a fresh and unique perspective to the board.

I am an engineer who is a creative thinker and problem solver by nature. I am experienced at making fair decisions considering a broad population with varying needs.

I have worked as a civil engineer at the City of Carrollton and understand the roles and protocol of the Board with respect to the Administration and Staff.

I served as chair of the Elementary portion of the Citizens Committee for the 2003 Bond Committee and benefited from visiting many of the schools in the district.

I was able to see first hand the quality of the education facilities. We utilized the information we gathered combined with the population growth projections to suggest priorities for the new construction.

I am committed to working closely with the residents of the district including all cities. I will strive to provide the same high quality educational opportunities throughout the district though the goals and policies established by the School Board. I have the ability and commitment to represent the District’s students, parents, taxpayers, and community members.
